PROBLEM/SOLUTION

THE PROBLEM: Along with working on other projects for Jägermeister, I was tasked with coming up with concepts for an upcoming Halloween campaign for Jäger. The “big idea” was to have an in-store point of sale display, a floor graphic that engaged with the customer and a branded look that would allow for the customer to purchase bottles of Jäger for their potential Halloween party. Other considerations included special applications for the iconic bottle to be displayed.

THE SOLUTION: Through various rounds of thoughts thinking about the assignment, I arrived at a thematic that hit all points of the task. Starting with the POS display I wanted to have cutout zombie hands reaching up through the shelves of Jäger. Creepy and interesting, I felt that the user would be intrigued to walk up to the display. The lead-up to the display however, I had a thought of having a creepy basement show through weathered floorboards (as if they were the stores floorboards) and also show a creepy basement door with a stag peeking out from behind. This was a way of tying the iconic Jäger stag into the concept along with the zombie thematic.

In addition to the POS and floor graphic concepts, I wanted to think about how the iconic Jäger bottle could be displayed differently on shelves but still retain the integrity of the bottle design. My though was to have a shirk wrap application placed over the bottle. The design keeping with the zombie thematic. To take it one step further, I thought what if the customer carried out a branded bag after purchase that showed the zombie hands reaching for the bottle that’s inside the bag.
